It sounds simplistic, but most professionals screw it up, and focus on the wrong things 😬

Anyway, as a thank you for putting up with my guessing game…

🎉 Here are ways to say No:

  • I'd love to help, and  thanks for thinking of me, but I have another 3 projects I'm taking on and I'm maxed out until the 23rd of the month.
  • Hey I haven't been the best at staying focused so I am actively scheduling in uninterrupted work blocks. Let's set up daily syncs to get on the same page that way I can get you what you need.
  • I don't think I'm the best person to help you with project X because I don't have much experience with XYZ. Can I suggest you speak to Ken who is in a much better place to help you? (Make sure Ken is cool with this!)
  • I would love to talk to you, this is really important to me, but let's connect tomorrow morning at 9am…I will be able to deal with this best with my full attention and focus in the morning.
  • I'm currently working on XYZ. In order to meet our deadline of Friday, I have the capacity to handle 3 projects. Is there one you’d like me to deprioritize to tackle this one? 
  • I don't think that makes sense for me based on what I am focusing on right now. This project deserves an exceptional delivery and I would hate to over commit and not be able to give that my full attention.
